Vocal Work
Sam works part time as a professional choir and solo singer in the NJ, NYC, and Philly areas as a Baritone and Tenor. Through his studies at Westminster Choir College, he has worked with many professional musicians and coaches, and specifically studied under Dr. Jay Carter and Dr. Akiko Hosaki.

As part of his degree program, Sam put on a recital his senior year showcasing his voice in a number of styles. This piece, Herbert Howells' "King David", became a very meaningful piece of music for both Sam and his vocal coach Dr. Carter.

Sam's main background is in choral music and group ensemble singing, which also presents solo opportunities as shown in this recording of him singing the solo in Ralph Vaughan Williams' arrangement of the folk song "Ca' the Yowes" with Westminster Choir College's namesake auditioned professional choir, Westminster Choir.

As many professional musicians do, Sam works at churches in the area as a section leader in choirs and as a soloist for services. Here is a recording of him singing Handel's "Gentle Redeemer" for one such service at FPC Moorestown

This piece, Gabriel Fauré's "Soir" was a piece Sam and his accompanist/coach Dr. Hosaki stumbled upon while researching Fauré's "Prison", another repertoire piece of Sam's. While researching, Sam found out that "Prison" was the first song in a two song set titled 2 Songs, Op. 83, with the other song in the set being "Soir".

Alongside his background in Choral and Classical music, Sam also studied a wide variety of other musical styles, including musical theatre. Sam performed in many musical theatre shows throughout High School, and performed this duet, "Agony" from the musical Into the Woods, with his friend and colleague Charles Ibsen.
